I recently installed this in a 98 Wide Glide. Install was pretty straightforward, with a few caveats….1. Replaced factory INA cam bearing with a Torrington bearing, which is a necessary upgrade for reliability.2. This cam needs to be shimmed in later year Evo engines. Simply order a 0.055″ shim and put shim between thrust washer and the cam. (Note: assembly order of thrust washer and shim are critical).3. Not sure about how to measure gear mesh or if the cam has the right gear on it…easy no worries fix…. use hydraulic press to press gear off both cams and press the old factory matched gear on to the new cam. Use one of those big illuminated magnifying glasses and a carbide scribe to make index marks on the old gear, indexing off the edges if the keyway on the camshaft. I noticed that the new cam gear was already scratched in such a way. The gears press off fairly easy, old gear goes on new shaft fairly easily with a press, I heated the gear with a heat gun first to make it easier. I got the index marks lined up within the the /- error of my uncalibrated eyes on the first try.Bike runs great with this cam, no regrets.
