The amount of negative reviews written by folks who can’t seem to grasp how this product is intended to be used is comical. The hook is not meant to hold the headband of a set of earmuffs. It’s meant to secure around one of the stiff wire connectors from the earcup to the headband, and when used like that—as shown in the photo—it works flawlessly. As many reviewers have noted, the headbands on most modern earmuffs are wide, and thick, and padded. A belt clip wide enough to accommodate that would also present a tremendous snag hazard when not in use, as it would stick out at least a couple of inches, with the potential to catch on things.
